Terms and Conditions

Registration and Contract Formation
By registering/booking for a voyage, a contract is established between you and Sailthing. Through registration/booking, you confirm that you have read the Terms and Conditions and acknowledge them as an integral part of the contract.

1. Contract Contents
The booked travel date, region, and duration constitute the contract's content. Primarily, this ensures accommodation on the sailing yacht. Transportation may be suspended due to dangerous wind and weather conditions or sudden technical problems. If the yacht remains usable as accommodation, no claims for non-transportation are accepted.

2. Prices
The conditions at the time of contract formation apply.

3. Payment
The full amount is due from the moment of booking.

4. Cancellation / Changes / Insurance
Cancellation fees upon withdrawal are as follows:
- Up to 70 days before the voyage: 50% of the voyage price
- 69 to 21 days before the voyage: 70% of the voyage price
- 0 to 20 days before the voyage: 100% of the voyage price

You have the option to provide a replacement person. Cancellation by Sailthing must occur at least two weeks before departure. In this case, the voyage price can be refunded. If the journey is interrupted, saved expenses will be reimbursed. Claims for damages are excluded. Reserved are force majeure, unrest, strikes, and other circumstances that make it advisable to forego the journey in the interest of the participants. If you arrive late for departure, no refund will be granted.

5. Complaints
Complaints must be documented in writing during the voyage and confirmed by the skipper. Without this, your complaint cannot be addressed. Complaints must be received in writing by Sailthing no later than 8 days after the last day of the voyage.

6. Liability
Claims for damages are excluded if they result from negligence on the part of participants, third parties, or force majeure. There is no claim for damages if damage occurs despite the required care by Sailthing or service providers or cannot be prevented. Participants are obliged to provide information about their health, and if there are doubts about their fitness for the sea, to have it confirmed by a doctor. Participation is at your own risk; Sailthing's liability is limited to willful intent and gross negligence. If the skipper assesses the risk of an individual crew member as too high for medical reasons, either for that crew member or the rest of the crew, any participant may be excluded from further travel at any time. Sailthing cannot be held liable for resulting costs.

7. Travel Documents
Each participant is responsible for obtaining the necessary travel documents (valid passport, visas, vaccinations). Required information can be found on the EDA (Swiss Department of Foreign Affairs) website. Please check the validity and completeness of your travel documents right after booking.

8. Luggage
Water-repellent clothing is necessary for every voyage. Luggage should be a soft duffle bag that can be folded for storage. Suitcases and bulky bags are not suitable.

9. Ship's Rules
Good health is a prerequisite for every voyage. Each crew member is obliged to inform us of any health problems. The skipper has authority on board and is responsible for the well-being of all persons on board. In case of any problems, the skipper is the first point of contact on board. He is responsible for safety on board, the condition and seaworthiness of the ship. The skipper's full board is provided on board. The skipper is authorized to exclude passengers from further transportation for important reasons. If local authorities prohibit sailing for individual passengers on-site, no compensation will be provided.

10. Mileage Confirmation
On our voyages, a practical confirmation for the Swiss high-sea license can be issued at the end of the voyage for active participation in maneuvers and navigation, signed by the skipper.

11. Photos/Videos
By paying the invoice, participants of a voyage agree that photos and videos taken during the voyage, both on and off the ship, may be used for marketing purposes on Sailthing's website after consultation.

12. Program Changes
Unforeseen circumstances may lead to changes in the travel program (e.g., route choice). We commit to providing equivalent replacement services. Program changes do not entitle to any claims for damages (not even consequential damages, e.g., loss of earnings).
